Healing

Thanks to my wonderful chiropractor, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it ain't a train. Most of the key pain is gone, and I am out of the misery of most of the pain and numbness. Man, that was just awful and there was no escaping it. Couldn't turn my head ... all the bad things that happen when your spine is out of joint. And out of joint it was.

The top of the T vertebrae basically did not match up with the bottom of the neck C vertebrae. There was an angled gap, causing the disc to try and sneak out, which impinged on the nerve serving my shoulder and right arm. That's mostly taken care of, though certain positions, like putting my chin in my hand with elbow on table, still don't work.

Among other things, I have to exercise my neck now also, re-learning to keep my head up to try to re-gain the curvature in my neck. This is particularly troublesome, as one hangs their head when cycling. Is there a brace for this sort of thing?

Much PT to do. But getting better. Not sure when I'll be getting back on the bike though, but important to take care of things now.
